my journey.
So I have some health issues. I have a family history of the typical laundry list of problems. Heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, high triglycerides just to name a few. Now it seems that my life of bad eating and exercise habits have caught up with me.
I take medicine to lower my high blood pressure and anti inflammatory meds and muscle relaxers for my back. 23 yrs of working on restaurant floors will do that to you. Anyway... I am currently 40 years old 6'1" and weigh 236 lbs.
That being said, my journey is not to be some rail thin buff Adonis but to be healthier than I am now. According to both my doctor and my Wii fit my BMI, or body mass index is supposed to put me weighing in at about 166 lbs. I laughed, and I am ok with weighing 180. Alas, as you can do the math, 236 is a ways away from 180. My lovely wife is doing this getting healthier thing as well, and shes doing a phenominal job at it. Technology is her friend, she uses her smart phone to track everything she eats, good or bad she totals it. I however as much as I love techy geeky things I cant stand the damn apps for health tracking. I forget to use them, I get frustrated at them. So to hell with them. Imma go old school, I started a log focusing on the areas I need to watch in my diet. Calories, carbs, sodium as well as my weight and blood sugar. I put a icon on the desktop so that I see it, as much as I use this computer if it is staring at me I will fill it out.
Time has run out I have no choice left but to get better.
